Limits you can set
- Deposit limit. A cap on the amount deposited per day, week or month. Lowering it takes effect immediately; raising it takes effect after 24 hours.
- Loss limit. A cap on net losses over a period. Once reached, bets and game launches are blocked until the period resets.
- Wager limit. A cap on total stakes, useful for players who turn over a balance many times.
- Session limit. A maximum time per login, with a reminder before it ends.
- Reality check. A pop-up at a chosen interval showing time played and net result.
All limits are in the responsible gambling section of the account and take a minute to set. The deposit limit is the one to set first: decide what the month's entertainment budget is and enter it before the first deposit, not after.
Cooling-off and self-exclusion
A cooling-off period blocks the account for 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days. It cannot be lifted early. Self-exclusion closes the account for six months, a year or permanently; during that time no marketing is sent, no new account can be opened, and any attempt to register again is blocked by the identity checks. Pending withdrawals are paid out normally before the exclusion starts. Request either tool in the account settings or through live chat; support applies it at once.
Signs that play is becoming a problem
- Betting more than planned, or chasing losses with bigger stakes.
- Borrowing money or using funds meant for rent, food or school fees.
- Hiding activity from family or lying about time and money spent.
- Feeling restless or irritable when not betting.
- Thinking about betting during work or sleep.
Two or more of these over a few weeks is a reason to set a cooling-off period and talk to someone. The self-assessment questionnaire in the account takes three minutes and gives a plain yes-or-no answer.
Where to find help
Kenya: Gamblers Anonymous Kenya and the Ministry of Health mental health helpline. Nigeria: Gamblers Anonymous Nigeria and the Mentally Aware Nigeria Initiative. Ghana: the Mental Health Authority helpline. Tanzania: the Tanzania Mental Health Association. Egypt: the General Secretariat of Mental Health hotline. International resources such as Gambling Therapy offer free online counselling in several languages. Support staff can share current contact details on request and will apply any limit or exclusion immediately. Gambling is for adults aged 18 and over; if you are concerned about a minor's access, blocking software such as Gamban or Net Nanny can be installed on shared devices.
